As being within driving distance of some of the most populous areas of the country, parking around the Mall is very important. Even though we have a variety of parking options, sometimes you just want to make things easier. Luckily, with Cape May's Jitney service, you can! The Jitney is a free shuttle service that travels a route throughout Cape May on select dates and during select times that can bring you to and from the Mall. The green and white busses can fit 13 passengers and are ADA compliant and climate controlled. Busses will stop at any of the designated stops if there are people waiting (or if people on the bus request to be dropped off). Drivers may also stop elsewhere if flagged down, but only if it is safe to do so. All stops throughout town are denoted by signage. Generally, a wait for a bus at a stop should not take more than 15-25 minutes at most. You can also download the Jitney Surfer app to track the Jitneys and to alert drivers that you want a pickup at your current location on the route. Please note that weather, traffic, the time of year, special events, and ridership numbers may alter the service or the route. Look for signs to find Jitney stops around town! The stop closest to the Mall is located on Lyle Lane at Hill Walk. This means you will end up right in the heart of the Mall! The location of the Jitney stop for the Mall The Jitney is a great option for those who may be staying a little further from the Mall in Cape May. You can use the Jitney to avoid having to walk or drive to the Mall, especially if the weather is not good or if you have small children with you. But for those traveling to the Mall from outside of Cape May, the Jitney can also work for you as well! Instead of having to pay for parking around the Mall, you can park for free and easy at areas in town with free parking near the shuttle route, and pick up the Jitney from there.
